Planting a new church in New Zealand

about project NEW life:

Led by Pastor Egimar Oliveira, the Projeto New Vida (Project New Life) has a vital task: to establish a new church and reignite the gospel among those in New Zealand who have drifted away from their faith in Jesus Christ. Currently, the church planter and his family are dedicated to language development, immersing themselves in the culture, and conducting field research.

Impact of the Project:

Project New Life is making a difference in New Zealand, with entire communities turning to faith in Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, New Zealand is a country where Christianity has been declining, with churches being abandoned or repurposed due to secularism. We are countering this trend with the Projeto Vida Nova.

Why We Support:

CTK United believes in the importance of reintroducing the gospel in regions where faith is weakening. We believe that Projeto Vida Nova is doing crucial work in this area, which is why we have chosen to support this project.

Support from the Brazilian Task Force:

The Grace Presbyterian Church, which has experienced church closures in New Zealand, formed the "Brazilian's Task Force." This committee has worked to establish a partnership with IPB/APMT to bring Brazilian pastors to plant new churches in New Zealand. It has been a precious time of edification and preparation for the challenges that lie ahead.

stages of the project so far:

  • We are volunteering at Bupa Hayman Care Home, where we engage in conversations with staff and residents and participate in weekly worship services.

  • We are supporting two small groups, one from the host church and another comprised of non-Christians from Asian countries.

  • We have initiated a monthly men's gathering at the church, with the aim of strengthening fellowship and awakening men's ministry within the church.
